2024 Gold Star Chapter Designation

The Gold Star Chapter designation is presented by FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association to affiliate chapters that demonstrate a commitment to achieving the mission and goals of their community outreach partnership with the FBI. This prestigious recognition acknowledges the dedication of the chapter board of directors and members in achieving high quality operating standards.

 

“Chapters receiving the Gold Star Chapter designation personify the highest merits of the FBI and the FBI National CAAA,” said Richard Schwalberg, president of the FBI National CAAA. The recognition was announced at the Association’s 17th Annual National Leadership Conference in Detroit, Michigan.

 

FBI New Haven Citizens Academy Alumni Association is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the FBI New Haven division to deliver community outreach, education, and service programs. Its members are graduates of the FBI Citizens Academy, a comprehensive program that gives business, religious, civic and community leaders an inside look at the FBI.

2022 Excellence in Community Outreach

The Excellence in Community Outreach award recognizes exemplary community education and outreach programs developed and led by the Chapter. Award recipients demonstrate excellence in planning, promoting, and executing programs that further the Chapter's mission in alignment with the Field Office's needs and priorities.

2022 Excellence in Chapter Operations

The Excellence in Chapter Operations award was created to teach, encourage, and recognize outstanding nonprofit management and best practices in furtherance of our mission and partnership with the FBI. Chapters must be in compliance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Chapter Affiliation Agreement (CAA) to be considered for this award.

2018 Jerry Fogel Community Service Award (JFCSA)

The Jerry Fogel Community Service Award is given to the chapter, which has provided its community with the most outstanding community service project over the previous year. This project could be a series of community service activities or a single activity. This award recognizes the winning chapter’s ability to recognize a pressing community need and develop a project to address the need; coordinate with their local FBI Field Office to insure the proposed project is consistent with the current FBI-FBICAAA Memorandum of Agreement; work with and involve appropriate community leaders in the project; and bring positive notoriety to the FBI’s Community Outreach Program.


2019 Presidential Chapter of Excellence Award

This award is given to an FBICAAA chapter, which has exhibited excellence in all organizational aspects: strong partnership with their local FBI Field Office; successful community outreach programs; sustained membership growth; full compliance with all documentation required by the Federal, state, and local entities to be a certified 501(c)(3), non-profit organization; meeting all FBINCAAA standards for professionalism and participation to include attendance at the previous year’s FBINCAAA Leadership Conference.


Recognition by Veterans Administration

The FBI New Haven Citizens Academy Alumni Association received an award from the Veterans Administration for service and support given to the VA in West Haven.
